"My name is Sai Naidu. I’m from South Africa, but I live here in Dubai. I work for Emirates Airlines," he explained.
What started as an ordinary day took an unexpected turn when he fell and injured his shoulder.
"I came here for an MRI, and they discovered that it had been torn in a couple of places."
Naidu consulted Dr. Khaled Al Awany, Consultant Orthopedic Surgeon, an experienced orthopedic surgeon.
"I saw Dr. Khaled Al Awany, Consultant Orthopedic Surgeon, and he suggested I have surgery to fix it up. He described everything. He’s very knowledgeable and obviously has a lot of experience," Sai shared.
Even with his background as an ex-soldier, the idea of surgery felt intimidating.
"I was actually very worried. I’m not scared of things usually. The only thing I’m scared of are needles and surgery and that kind of stuff."
Despite the fear, everything went better than he expected.
"It went very well. I didn’t feel anything. The pain management was great."
From the moment he arrived, Sai noticed that the environment did not feel like a typical hospital stay.
"The hospital itself, the room was more like a hotel room than a hospital."
Sai was also impressed by details that many hospitals overlook.
"The one thing I must compliment the hospital on is the food. Normally you complain about hospital food, but the food was actually great."
However, what stood out most was the nursing team.
"The most impressive thing of this whole hospital is the nurses. The nurses were amazing, all of them."
He described how their caring attitude made a difficult time easier.
"From the nurse working for Dr. Khaled, she was brilliant. Always taking a step forward with a very nice attitude. They made me feel happy when I saw them, even though I was in pain most of the time. I must commend the nurses."
Patient experience was so positive that he has already encouraged others to seek care at Fakeeh University Hospital.
