Who Can Donate Blood?
You are eligible to donate blood if you:
- Are 18 to 65 years old
- Weigh 50kg or more
- Are in good health and feeling well
- Haven’t donated blood in the past 56 days
A quick health screening will be done before your donation

Eligibility Criteria for Blood Donation
To ensure donor and recipient safety, please review the following eligibility guidelines before donating:
General Requirements
- Donor must be in good general health at the time of donation.
- Age: 18–65 years
- Body Weight:
- Minimum 50 kg
- Donors aged 21 or below must weigh at least 55 kg
Pre-Donation Guidelines
- Have enough sleep the night before.
- Eat healthy food within 4 hours of donation.
- Avoid fatty foods like eggs, butter, cheese, or mutton for at least 12 hours before donation.
Who Should NOT Donate blood?
- Pregnant or lactating women, for their own and their baby’s safety.
- Anyone who has:
- Traveled to a malaria-endemic country in the past month.
- Received blood or blood products in the past 6 months.
- Undergone major surgery in the last 6 months.
- A history of malaria.
- A history of jaundice after age 11.
- Major health conditions or diseases transmissible via blood transfusion (e.g. hepatitis, HIV).
