BRIEF PROFILE:

Dr. Lyudmila Kishikova is a UK-trained Consultant Ophthalmologist specialising in oculoplastic surgery with over 10 years of experience in Ophthalmology. She completed her higher specialist training in Ophthalmology in the Northern Deanery in the United Kingdom, holds the Fellowship of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists, and undertook highly competitive, advanced subspecialty fellowship training in Oculoplastic, Lacrimal and Orbital Surgery at James Cook University Hospital in the UK.

Her clinical practice focuses on functional and aesthetic eyelid surgery, ptosis, eyelid malposition, periocular lesions and tumours, eyelid reconstruction, lacrimal disorders and periocular aesthetic treatments. Her surgical experience includes blepharoplasty, entropion and ectropion repair, ptosis and brow surgery, eyelid lesion excision and reconstruction, punctoplasty and external dacryocystorhinostomy. She also provides comprehensive ophthalmic care and has extensive experience in cataract surgery, ophthalmic laser procedures and the management of urgent ophthalmic and oculoplastic conditions.

Dr. Kishikova also provides non-surgical periocular and facial aesthetic treatments, including botulinum toxin (Botox) injections. She completed an MSc in Skin Ageing and Aesthetic Medicine at the University of Manchester with Distinction and received the programme's Outstanding Achievement Award. Drawing on her specialist oculoplastic and aesthetic training, she takes an individualised approach focused on facial harmony, preservation of natural expression and subtle, natural-looking outcomes.

She completed a visiting observership at the Moorfield’s Eye Hospital, London, UK and UCLA Stein Eye Institute in Los Angeles, US where she learned from internationally renowned, world-leading experts in oculoplastic surgery and gained further exposure to advanced periocular surgery, facial aesthetics and contemporary oculoplastic practice.

Dr. Kishikova has taught ophthalmology within the Newcastle University Medical School curriculum, delivering lectures and practical workshops for medical students. She is active in research, education and service development, with 19 peer-reviewed publications and more than 40 national and international presentations. She regularly attends and presents at leading national and international ophthalmology and oculoplastic conferences, including meetings of the British Oculoplastic Surgery Society, the European Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, and the World Society of Ophthalmic Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery. Her academic interests include eyelid reconstruction, thyroid eye disease and outcomes in oculoplastic surgery.
