He holds a medical doctorate degree in psychiatry from the Faculty of Medicine, Ain Shams University, Cairo, Egypt, and has been practising in the UAE for 14 years.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Assaf is a lecturer at Ain Shams University in Cairo, Egypt. He is also an examiner for the Emirati Board in the UAE.
