Dr. Kamalesh Pal is a Consultant Pediatric Surgeon and Pediatric Urologist with more than 18 years of experience across India, KSA and UAE. Prior to joining Fakeeh University Hospital, he was a senior consultant at a tertiary care private hospital in Dubai for 7 years. He has also served as the Head and Associate Professor of Pediatric Surgery at King Fahad Hospital of University, Imam Abdulrehman bin Faisal University , KSA for more than 7 years. He was responsible for developing the minimally invasive neonatal & pediatric surgery services there. While in India, he has served as a Faculty ( Associate professor)and Consultant Pediatric Surgeon at the prestigious Christian Medical College, Ludhiana, and was responsible for creating an independent Pediatric Surgery during his tenure.
Dr. Pal has performed more than 5000 neonatal and 10,000 pediatric surgical procedures, involving congenital anomalies in newborns, pediatric GIT, hepatobiliary, thoracic, urological, oncological and minimally invasive procedures including robotic surgeries. His areas of special interest are hypospadias repair, laparoscopic pyeloplasty, vesicoscopic ureteric reimplantation, anorectal malformation, Hirschsprung’s disease, robotic surgery.
He has been involved in teaching undergraduate and postgraduate medical and nursing students for more than 15 years. He is also an active researcher with more than 40 published manuscripts in Indexed International Journals and five chapters in pediatric surgery text books. He has published 3 own research Theses and supervised morethan 20 postgraduate theses in leading universities of India and KSA.He is an active peer-reviewer of 7 international journals in pediatric surgery.Dr Pal has delivered keynote speeches in more than 50 international conferences and has successfully organised several international conferences.
His career also involves being the Visiting Professor to Children’s Hospital, University of Alabama, USA in 2009. He has won many awards and accolades like the Mohan Lal Wig Gold Medal for Best Pediatric Surgeon from AIIMS, New Delhi, India; Best Research Award at 22nd Biennial Congress of AAPS 2010 in Kuala Lumpur; the Young Scientists Award of 91st session of Indian Science Congress Association in 2004.
