At Fakeeh Health, we believe great care extends beyond the walls of the hospital — it lives in the connections we build with our community. That belief came to life at our recent Water Birth Community Event: an open, empowering conversation around pregnancy, birth, and the power of informed choice.
It was a truly special opportunity to bring families and experts together in one space, and to support expecting parents in feeling confident and prepared for the journey ahead.
We were delighted to welcome more than 40 pregnant women, future parents, and their partners for a warm and engaging session dedicated to one simple goal: helping families feel informed, supported, and empowered.
Pregnancy and birth are among life's most meaningful experiences — and every family deserves to approach them with confidence and clarity. Throughout the event, the focus remained on open conversation, honest information, and the understanding that when families are educated about their options, they can make the choices that feel right for them.
What made the day so meaningful was the spirit of collaboration. The session brought together international expertise, our own clinical team, and the families at the heart of it all.
We were honored to be joined by Ms. Barbara Harper, Ms. Jana Krige, Ms. Caridad Saenz, and Dr. Alaa, whose insight and experience enriched the conversation and gave attendees the chance to ask questions, share their thoughts, and learn directly from leading voices in the field.
For many attendees, the event was also an opportunity to learn more about water birth as a birthing option. Water birth involves spending part of labour — and, in some cases, the birth itself in a warm birthing pool. For suitable pregnancies, many mothers find that the warm water offers comfort and relaxation during labour, helping them feel more at ease.
As with every aspect of birth, water birth is a deeply personal choice, and its suitability is always assessed individually with the guidance of an experienced clinical team. That's exactly why events like this matter — they give families the information they need to explore their options and discuss what might be right for them with the professionals supporting their care.
Perhaps the most important takeaway from the day was this: when we educate and empower families, we make them true partners in their own care. An informed parent is a confident parent and that confidence carries through every stage of pregnancy, birth, and beyond.
Bringing expertise and community together in one room reflects the very heart of how we want to care for our families. And that is exactly the kind of healthcare we strive to provide at Fakeeh Health.
